HOTELS

Hello Henrik, Sorry for the long delay in answering your email. I spent the last 2 months in an "internet free zone", (Gambarogno/Ticino) i.e. the reception was so poor that I gave up trying! In answer to your questions; Service -  5+ Food  - 5+ Cleanliness - 5+ Value for money - 5 Sleep Quality - 5++++++ We have been recommending it to all our friends and family The only criticism we had, was the difference of price between the "small" breakfast and the "buffet breakfast. The small breakfast Euros 6.60/ buffet breakfast Euros 17.60 The selection for the latter was rather poor and not worth such a price. There were very few clients at the hotel during that week and may-be it was not cost-effective to lay on a large display. There might be a bigger selection during the busy summer season. The central location of the hotel is also ideal; everything in easy walking distance for us "Oldies" Very quiet; no traffic noise nor noise from late night revellers!! The staff were very hospitable, friendly and competent. We had dinner at the hotel 4 times and were very impressed by the quality of the food and the very efficient service. The rooms ( 7 & 8 ) were very beautiful and comfortable. The beds perfection; not to hard nor to soft , plus a choice of 3 types of pillows! 6 pillows per room. Usually I have to beg hotels for extra and "soft" pillows!!!! I cannot remember ever having slept so well in any hotel before. re taxis : taxis from airport or taxiranks in town are not allowed into the c/San Francesc taxis ordered via hotel reception are allowed to drop off and pick-up at the entrance of hotel. eating out: your recommendation TAST CLUB calle Sant Jaume we could not find it despite walking up and down that alley twice. found out later via internet, that they do not have name over door or outside. They don't need publicity! We ended up in a small Tapas Bar in the same street: LA BODEGUILLA and were very satisfied with the food. TAST/ calle Union was fully booked and hotel reception sent us to a typical Mallorquin Restaurant: CELLAR PAGES / calle Felip Bauza We enjoyed the food very much which is traditional mallorquin and extremely low prices. We also found a Restaurant just round the corner from the hotel, in placa Sant Francesc: Restaurant PORTIC  and went there twice. They serve traditional Mallorquin & Spanish food and also have a few dishes on the menu with recipes from the 17th - 18th century which is worth trying! Prices for food and wine also very low. Very cosy and rustic atmosphere. But be warned; Saturday evening there is live Mexican music. One man only, but rather loud. Thanks once more for your help and of course we will contact you if we plan to return to Mallorca. Best regards and good wishes for a successful summer season,

Dear Henrik, The hotel was superb. The staff were young but very professional and the building and decor was beautiful. Great location too. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings and thought is was worth the €16. We also had dinner on the first night and that was excellent as well!. We would definitely be back and have already recommended to friends and family. We will definitely return. Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality: 5 Many thanks

Hi Henrik and thank you for your concern. The Can Cera is a lovely hotel – like staying in a stately home! The staff were especially friendly and helpful. The suite we stayed in was very expensive but did feel very special – so probably OK for a 2 night special occasion (though they do have cheaper rooms). We used the car parking (in a garage around he corner) but not the car so maybe we could have picked a hire car up on leaving the hotel. We were disappointed breakfast was not included at the price we paid. But Ensamada and coffee in the adjacent square was only 3 euros. We did not eat in the hotel. We did get a complimentary bottle of Cava on the first night too. So 5 for service, cleanliness and sleep. 3 for value for money.Overall we had a fabulous holiday and will be coming back to Mallorca (this amazingly was out firs visit). Again thank you for your help and for introducing us to 2 great hotels.

Overview

Amidst picture postcard charms of Palma de Mallorca lies Can Cera: a luxurious oasis oozing with grand heritage.

Can Cera has stood through over seven centuries of Mallorcan history. Indeed this glorious building looked on as Jaume I claimed victory over Mallorca with the help of Catalan and Aragonese troops in 1232. Magnificent ancient architecture remains the essence of Can Cera yet today such splendid design interweaves with contemporary amenities.

Sweeping marble staircases, stone archways and towering ceilings provide a striking backdrop for mod cons like in-room air conditioning, internet and relaxed welcoming ambiance. Despite deluxe design and an impressive complement of extra luxuries, Can Cera has only 12 rooms. So attentive personalised service is all yours. Whether a bright beautiful double room takes your fancy or a divine deluxe room beckons, those vast classic Mallorcan beds, spacious living spaces and modern abstract artworks create a fine fusion of handsome homeliness. Then of course there is the grand suite for a stay that’s really special.

Food, spa treatments, vistas – Can Cera has it all. Work up an appetite in the enticing hotel spa offering delights as Finnish and Haman sauna, massage therapy and a tranquil relaxation area to name but a few treats. Continue your pampering with some serene sightseeing on the rooftop terrace where the cathedral steeples and Palma panoramas will charm you.

Then join the locals for glorious gastronomy in Can Cera’s eclectic restaurant. Creative cuisine is the vanguard of this exceptional eatery which turns on a scrumptious menu of Mallorcan and Asian fare. Be sure to try the tasty tapas too! Quality underpins such creative expression with premium seasonal produce freshly harvested, caught or procured from local markets. Yet you will find the restaurant is not too busy being clever to cultivate a warm welcoming vibe as delicious as the food.
