Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes, making clear this is a location that is rural but in easy reach of a Lidl - which has a good range of groceries.

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?

The host, Antonia, was very welcoming. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The pool was very clean. The breakfast was beautifully presented. I may have missed her contact details in your email, but it would have been very useful to be able to contact Antonia directly upon arriving in Mallorca so I could update her on my progress to the accommodation - just in case I experienced travel delays.

Hi Henrik

Thanks for getting in touch.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Son Capellot.

The setting is beautiful and peaceful yet within an easy drive of lots of fantastic coastline and villages (a car definitely needed though).

Antonia is a wonderful host and her breakfasts were a highlight - delicious fresh local produce beautifully prepared. Sitting on the lovely terrace eating such delicious food was a real treat. 5

The rooms are simple, very clean and comfortable. 5

We slept well although I found the air conditioning a little bit hard to control temperature-wise. 4

We thought Son Capellot was excellent value for money - a beautiful place to stay with lovely surrounding and the gorgeous pool which we generally had to ourselves. Would recommend! 5

Thanks again for your help with arranging the holiday - we would definitely go through Rural Hotels Mallorca again.

Just a note to say that we had a very enjoyable holiday and the car hire worked out well too. Thank you for your help with this.

Hi Henrik,

We had a fabulous time at Monnaber Nou.
Five star ambience without with the hefty prices.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts delicious and varied.
The food in the restaurant was good but could have been better.
More seafood and a fresh range of salads might be an improvement.
We stayed in the apartments away from the main building. My only criticism is that it would be good if there were staff present all the time to take orders for drinks, for those guests who don't feel like going up to the big house.
Otherwise it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend the hotel to my friends.

Antonia is a wonderful host.
Welcoming, friendly, approachable and helpful.
We had a beautiful, air conditioned, traditional apartment.
The cleaner visited daily.
Recycling bins for all refuse were available which was great.
We were provided with both pool towels and bathroom towels, which was a bonus.

The breakfast is lovely.
Good selection of meats, eggs, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, cereals, yoghurts etc.

The other guests were friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere in general there.

Thanks,

Hi Henrik,

We are well thank you. I hope you are too? Here are the answers to your questions:

We loved San Capellot! The setting is gorgeous … very pretty farmland all around with striking red soil against blue skies. Loved the gentle noise of the sheep bells as they moved from one spot to another. The accommodation is lovely. Huge beds, very comfortable and extremely clean villa with private veranda. We especially loved the bathroom which was luxuriously large with shower and bath and two sinks!! The pool is gorgeous - extremely clean and well maintained. The gardens are very pretty and the hosts are so welcoming, kind and friendly. We found lots of idyllic beaches near by and some great places to eat too. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We’d definitely return and would recommend it to friends!

If you have a couple of minutes we would appreciate it if you would be so kind and provide us with some feedback about your stay at the hotel.

Hi Henrik

Hope you’re keeping well

We had a lovely stay at Son Capellot this year, thank you

Next year we’re planning on going to Menorca slightly later in the summer as we’ve never been before

We will be going slightly later in the summer this year

I wonder if you had connections with similar properties (similar price and style) to Son Capellot in Menorca?

Do you have any connections for good properties in the Denía area too?

I’d be very interested to hear if you do as last year’s pick was really lovely.

Kind regards

hi Henrik

thanks we had a great holiday.

re Son Capellot

What a gem of a find - it was a joy and good for the soul. It was so peaceful and all we could hear was the birds and the bells on the lambs

Our accomodation was fine, if a little basic in the kitchen. The apartment was cleaned every day and we were provided with a mossy net for the bed which was needed.

As we were mostly self catering it was great that there was a Lidl a couple of minutes away in the nearest town. The location was good to explore the south east of the island.

re Son Suriana

This was also a nice place and in particular on the first few days was very quiet. The place did get busy with large family groups and so it was a little noisy for us. Location was good for Alcudia and Pollensa.

The accommodation was ok and cleaned every day, the settee was not so comfortable . But the kitchen was well equipped.

I do think when you send guests you should be clearer on the arrival information as there is no left turn waiting area marked in the road  to turn into the property if traveling west to east along the road,  The turn comes up very quickly and  it feels very dangerous. Once we got used to it , it was fine but for new arrivals a bit scary.

Hi Henrik,

Thank you for your e-mail.

We had a lovely stay and would rate each category 5/5.

I already recommended the hotel to friends and family.

Kind regards

Hi Henrik, It’s a great place to stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel. In fact, I already have done. The service from Rural Hotels Mallorca was also fantastic. Really helpful and made it very easy for me to book.  This a really wonderful place. It’s off the beaten track - the only sound being the grazing sheep’s bells. The rooms have kitchens with basic equipment but perfectly adequate. The place is spotlessly clean and the grounds are beautiful. In the morning you are served a beautiful breakfast. The location is excellent - it’s in the south east and there are lots of things to explore within easy driving distance. The best thing about this place is Antonia and her husband. They are lovely welcoming people with a wealth of local knowledge. A very lovely place to stay, unwind, walk, drive and eat. Highly recommended.  Thanks, Service:  5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5

Hi Hendrik, We absolutely loved out stay at Son Capellot even though we booked (in error) the smallest room of the hotel.  We normally tend to go for the best room but were too late for booking that. Antonia, the owner, was so very charming and welcoming and we couldn't really fault anything apart from the pillows.  We are used to very soft pillows and only remarked it to Antonia on our last day.  She said that had we told her earlier she could have bought some better pillows for us.  Our mistake for not mentioning it sooner. The building and grounds are absolutely magical and we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Service:  5+, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5+, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 4 (only because of the pillows). Many thanks,

Dear Henrik, Thanks for following up. We had a great time in Son Capellot. The owners are amazingly loving people - the finca is very well maintained and they really take care of everything with all their heart and soul. We were also lucky to get to know many nice families - great atmosphere. As you seem to have a great taste and sense for both beauty and professionalism, I would really appreciate your opinion on following topic. I am planning to offer yoga-nutrition and lifestyle day-reatrats on Majorca in the near future and am currently looking for suitable cooperation partners. If you‘d be interested in promoting those, I‘d be happy to provide you with more information. I am currently working on the finalization of the concept.  Would be great to work with a professional agency like yours. Please find the answers to your other questions below. All the best,

Dear Henrik, We are so sorry for the late answer. Please find our feedback in the following: We stayed in three different hotels: Son Capellot: We had the most perfect stay in Son Capellot and we already recommended it to friends. Antonia and her husband are lovely and very helpful people who were always in for a chat but nevertheless respected their guests’ privacy. They even offered us a free bottle of wine as an excuse for one-day construction works which we hardly noticed. The gardens were very beautiful with its blooming flowers and orange trees. For breakfast, we were offered a great variety of local foods which changed every day. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It was helpful to have a kitchen in the apartment and a Lidl only 5 min away. We will definitely come back. Service: 5/5, Food: 5/5, Cleanliness: 5/5, Value for money: 5/5, Sleep quality: 5/5. Sa Vall: Sa Vall is located amidst a wonderful scenery and in walking distance to the beautiful city center of Valldemossa. The views from the room and the balcony were simply stunning. We already recommended it to friends. The higher prizes are justified because of its location and the lovely interior design. Service: 5/5, Food: 5/5, Cleanliness 5/5: Value for money: 5/5, Sleep quality: 5/5. El Encinar: Although the gardens and the facilities are naturally very beautiful, we felt that no further efforts are made to offer the guests a great experience. The breakfast basically consisted of reheated bread rolls and the dinner was really not worth the high prize, at all. Additionally, there were noisy construction works on their additional accommodations and the gardener burnt garbage on the facility so we had to leave because of the smoke. The close distance to the beautiful town of Arta is a plus. Service: 3/5, Food: 2/5, Cleanliness 4/5: Value for money: 3/5, Sleep quality: 4/5. We hope, this helps! All the best

Dear Henrik, I just wanted to let you know that our stay at Son Capellot could not have been better. The stylish and comfortable simplicity of the rooms to the beautifully kept gardens and pool along with the tinkling of the goat bells during the morning that highlighted the peace of the area. Just lovely. Thank you for making it possible. The house didn't disappoint in any way and our host, Antonia is one of the most friendly and helpful people you could ever wish to meet. She and her husband are an absolute delight and did everything they could to make our stay as perfect as possible from the freshly made breakfasts ( fresh pressed juice and lovely coffee) to recommending out-of-the-way places to visit. We shall certainly be returning and also to your website in the future. By the way, we also made use of your restaurant choices and places to visit. Thank you. With all good wishes,

Hi Henrick, A week has passed since we returned from Son Capellot. We have only praise for this splendid property & our equally splendid hosts. A beautiful property with a thoughtfully planned spacious appartment. The appartment itself was well furnished in a contemporary fashion, but tastefully in keeping with the ambience of the overall property.  The property is situated within well landscaped gardens and surrounded by an olive tree farm. Again all superbly well maintained. The swimming pool was again spotlessly clean & very private. For most of our stay we either had the pool to ourselves or shared with no more than 8 people. Our hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was simple but superb - fresh orange juice, fresh fritatta, local cheese & ham all served on the picturesque terrace with shade umbrellas.  The property offers a great place to relax in almost total peace as well as explore the surrounding areas. There are no sounds from roads or towns due to the secluded positioning of the property. Finally, due to a delayed flight & queuing at the car hire centre on a busy Saturday we were unfortunately delayed in arriving at the property until 2.30am in the morning. I texted Antonia to inform her and to her great credit both Antonia and her husband were in the car park ready to greet us and show us to our accomodation!!! Great friendly customer service which were very grateful for after a long journey.  Hope this helps. Regards Service 5, Food 5, Cleanliness 5, Value for Money 5, Sleep Quality 5

Hi Henrik, The hotel was very peaceful and clean with a beautiful garden environment. The hotel hosts were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.  The location was good for sightseeing by car.  There were plenty of sunbeds, but the design of some chairs didn't allow you to lie on your front comfortably.  The first room we were given gave us health problems as there was a faint smell of mould/damp, but we were moved the next day fortunately and the next apartment was great. Having experienced this now, overall we would have preferred a different location closer to a town with nice bars and restaurants. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 4, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 4, Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. Hi Henrik,  Sorry for delay in replying.. and happy to oblige regarding our holiday experience at San Capellot:  My Review : I would give Son Capellot and its service, food,  location, accommodation, sleep quality and value for money 5/5 on every score. I would certainly recommend this hotel to a friend; and we will visit Son Capellot again for sure.We had a fantastic and completely relaxing holiday at this beautiful location. The Owners Antonia and Miguel are a fantastic couple and this old family rural posada has been converted into a stunningly beautiful location, for rural tourism, enabling the farm to still stay working.  The surrounding terraces and gardens are packed with tubs of bougainvillea and beautiful rose gardens, and aromatic shrubs line the pathways along to the swimming pool. There is enough shade to sit at tables and chairs arranged under four palm trees at the front of the villa.and plenty of shade under umbrellas by the pool.  Location There are sheep (with tinkle bells) and some goats for toddlers and children to take an interest in, They graze lazily in an adjacent field next to the beautiful almond, olive, orange and lemon and fig trees. Wildlife we saw included, wild rabbits /hares, lizards, escarob beetle and a family of owls had nested in a palm tree to feed their young, which we managed to see, although they were well camouflaged.  Service 5/5  Antonia mainly runs the "hotel" side of things and she is an experienced English speaker. She was very fluent because she had learned English on a course in tourism at university during her earlier years, with the aim of becoming a travel guide/presenter, alongside bringing up a family.  She was born in the locality, in a village nearby, and was brought up at this wonderful farmhouse surrounded by family - so she was very knowledgable about places to visit- She was personally helpful throughout our stay and nothing seemed too much trouble for her to provide when you needed it - not just to us, but also to all the other visitors. During our stay we needed mosquito deterrent for the night (citronellas spray) which she provided and also some beach chairs for us to take with us in the car to the beach.  During our stay (which went too quickly) - the farmhouse was full - there were two to three couples with young children - including two babies, and two other families with one with and one without children who were staying in the one/ two bedroom apartments, all commented on how helpful Antonia was and how she could not do enough to make ours and everyone else's holiday a memorable one.  Breakfast: 5/5 This was laid up on tables on the terrace outside each morning. We were offered coffee (plenty and freshly made), squeezed orange juice. (juice in cartons on offer for the kids); a whole array of local meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs,  breads and croissants, jams honey and toast, and cereals, and on some days;  home baked ham quiches and date and bacon rolls a speciality in Mallorca, sometimes these came in a little wrap of puff pastry. A wonderful array of strawberries, grapes peaches apricots, tangerines, and great tasting tomatoes Room cleanliness and Sleep Quality. 5/5 We had booked the only available suite which was right next to the main building which we learned was a converted stable. Next time we aim to try an apartment. Our terrrace was on the main farmhouse front. We had an outside table chairs and umbrella for adequate shade to enjoy the outdoor life and just sit and listen to the tinkle bells of the sheep and hear the wonderful array of birds and bees which surrounded Son Capellot and generally soak up the wonderful peace and tranquil location, in the Mallorcan sunshine.  The suite consists of three spacious and wonderfully clean, light and airy rooms; one a TV lounge with comfortable sofa and lounge chair. There was a spacious bedroom with en-suite attached. Lots of wardrobes and all the luggage space we could ever need and a 2 metre wide super king bed which was extremely comfortable.   Location Son Capellot itself has enough at the posada to enjoy a day by the pool - great for toddlers and children up to around six or seven to learn to enjoy the water and be safe. As we did not want to cater for ourselves on this holiday, for us it was also good to be within easy reach of the coast by car and to be also close to Felanitx, which was less than a kilometer for shopping /banking needs.  A Lidl store was about a mile away. Most days and /or nights were spent  eating out and trying out the beautiful locations near local beaches of the South East Coast. (Porto Petro, Porto Collom) Felanitx itself does not have much to offer at night; with not many local restaurants in its locality. Eating out  At nearby villages between Son Capellot and the south coast there are many thriving and beautiful villages with enough to offer for eating out at night and trying the Mallorcan local dishes - as well as rural posadas and the golf club, which also caters for tourists. I ate mostly fresh fish, (heaven) local wine (made in Felanitx) and other local delicacies (pork, and suckling pig) Con Concos turned out to be one of our favourite villages with three (at least) excellent restaurants with a great welcome for visitors.  Try La Oveyja Negra (the Black Sheep) which has a small but excellent freshly cooked menu each night, great fish (sea bream salmon and hake; wonderful salads and fresh asparagus and has a burger night each Thursday with around a dozen different burgers on offer. ) - I had a burger which was heavenly (with blueberry sauce and fresh asparagus and salads)  around 15E for a main course. We met the chef who was German and loved to cook! Great cocktails. So Son Capellot is within easy reach of restaurants and walks either near the sea or further into the interior and mountains. Castles and monastries of historical interest nearby. We went to Santanyi  and saw its beautiful local stone church and other beautiful buildings. Further on then to the beach at Cala Santanyi (with lots of beach umbrellas ) which is a good location if you have slight walking problems as it's very flat. (so for me trekking and climbing a little difficult these days) This beach is like the unspoiled coves of Mallorca of a few years ago. Great beach cafe there too.  Hope this gives you some helpful feedback about a great holiday.

Overview

The Son Capellot country estate has a history stretching back more than 200 years. This agriturismo offers luscious gardens and orchards ideal for strolls and for relaxing amongst the orange, lemon, olive, and almond trees.

Surrounded by nature and far from the hustle and bustle of the more busy parts of the island, it is an oasis of peace and tranquility and a perfect place base for cycling (Sant Salvador hermitage, Santueri castle...).

The swimming pool and sun terrace are ideal for those who wish to take a few days to rest in a rural atmosphere, without sacrificing all the comfort of a 21st Century hotel.

The Mallorcan style farmhouse has five apartments (equipped with kitchen, fridge, microwave, television, DVD, central heating and air conditioning) and one double room and a suite.

At Son Capellot, treating yourself to a rural break doesn’t mean having to live without comfort. Being a small hotel with few rooms, each and every client is treated with the maximum care and attention.

Everything at Son Capellot is focused on rest and relaxation, whilst connecting with nature. The estate offers plenty of areas to sit and read a book or to take a stroll.

Those who are seeking other activities can find golf courses just 20 and 30 minutes away by car, and the opportunity to go horse riding is available just 5 minutes away from the estate. A visit to the Monastery of Saint Salvador exceeds the expectations of anyone on holiday or taking an excursion or the most breath-taking beaches on the island (i.e. Es Trenc) are just a 20 minute drive away.

The large area of land that surrounds the house offers visitors the opportunity to forget the stress and strain and invites them to submerge themselves in a rural atmosphere, enjoying the fruit from the trees in the orchard whilst taking a stroll alongside the flocks of sheep.
