Posted: Monday, 9th September 2019

If you enjoy being delighted by unexpected experiences and variety, Pollenca is a must on your Mallorca travel itinerary. Here you will find rich heritage and beautiful beaches. Not to mention a bustling calendar of festivals and events where you can soak up authentic Mallorcan culture. Pollenca truly does have something offer everyone.

Grab your free street map from the local tourist office or simply make your own way through Pollenca town. Historic highlights lie around every corner, including Museo de Pollenca and the AD120 Roman stone bridge that runs over Torrent de San Jordi.

Wherever your wanderings take you it is inevitable that at some stage you will find yourself in the Placa Major. Here a wealth of boutique restaurants and cafes line the square while the stately church of Pollenca looks on in the background.  You will be hard pressed to find a better spot to fetch up, people watch and enjoy a refreshing drink. Placa Major is always a terrific place to be yet Sundays set the stage for even bigger bustle. This is market day where a vibrant variety of stalls fill the square offering quintessential Mallorcan retail therapy.

Should you have your fill of the charming little lanes of Pollenca, be sure to take a sea change to Port de Pollenca. Nestled in the bay, Port de Pollenca offers soft white sands, crystal blue water and scenic promenades. A wealth of restaurants are on hand should you work up an appetite exploring the port’s many charms.

Park up in old town Pollenca for a genuinely memorable Mallorcan experience rich in variety. Mirroring the sheer choice in activities there are also some lovely hotels in Pollenca:

•    Son Sant Jordi: a family-run, stunningly restored jewel right in the heart of historic Pollenca.
•    Posada del Lluc: a small hotel sporting traditional exposed stonework and shady terraces, handily located just 5 minutes drive from Pollenca’s most beautiful nearby beaches
•    Son Brull: an ancient monastery come trendy boutique hotel complete with sparkling outdoor pool, on-site Mallorcan chef and every mod con you can imagine
